Registration Restrictions

  • Any natural person, legal person, organisation or association intending to show an economic, cultural, tourist, historical, social or other affinity with the Austrian federal State of Tirol.
  • Reserved domain names are sold by the registry themselves, wherefore it is only possible to register those domain names with an authcode acquired from the registry.
  • A CheckDomain will provide the following response: code = 210, description = Domain name available; Domain name not available publicly, RESERVATION

Domain Transfer Details

Transfer Procedure

  • The transfer is submitted to the registry and the losing registrar is automatically notified. The losing registrar sends an email to the owner (and optionally admin) contact with options to approve or deny the transfer. If not explicitly approved or denied, the transfer finalizes after 5 days.

Transfer Notes

  • A .tirol domain transfer must be initiated with an authorisation code, which can be obtained from the current registrar through the owner/admin contact of the domain. Ensure that your respective domain does not have a transfer lock (clientTransferProhibited and/or serverTransferProhibited) as seen in WHOIS. If the domain is locked on the client side, the owner can request the current registrar to remove the lock.

  • The format for auth info requires a minimum length of 8 characters and a maximum length of 32 characters.
