Domain Transfer Details

Transfer Procedure

  • The transfer is submitted to the registry, notifying the losing registrar automatically.
  • The current registrar informs the owner about the transfer via email, which may include options to approve or deny. Without explicit approval or denial, the transfer concludes automatically in 5 days.

Transfer Notes

  • A .la domain transfer requires an authorization code from the current registrar via the domain owner or admin contact.
  • Ensure the domain is not locked with clientTransferProhibited or serverTransferProhibited status. This is visible in WHOIS.
  • For a client-side transfer lock, the owner must request its removal from the current registrar.
  • These processes are for registrar transfers only. For internal reseller transfers, consult our internal transfers documentation.

Authorization Codes

  • Auth codes must be 16 to 48 characters long.
  • The auth code must contain at least two characters from each of these categories: Alphabetic (a-z, A-Z), Numeric (1-9), Special (-.,:;[]{}_+=@#$^*?!~).
