Domain Transfer Details
Transfer Procedure
-
After transfer request, a confirmation email is sent to the domain’s Owner/Admin-C. To initiate the transfer, this email must be confirmed. The losing registrar receives the transfer request and also sends an email to the Owner/Admin-C, allowing them to deny the transfer. If there is no response, the transfer is processed successfully after 5 days. If the WHOIS email address is invalid, the transfer cannot proceed, and the WHOIS information must be updated by the current registrar.
Transfer Notes
-
A .kiwi domain transfer must be initiated with an authorisation code, which can be obtained from the current registrar. Ensure that the domain does not have a lock-status (REGISTRAR-LOCK or HOLD) in the WHOIS. If the domain is locked, the owner can request to have it unlocked. The transfer will be processed after confirmation of the ‘ICANN Form of Authorization’ by the current registrant. After a successful transfer, the domain will be transfer-locked for 60 days.
Authorization Codes
-
The format for auth info requires a minimum length of 8 characters and a maximum length of 32 characters. Additionally, auth info must contain at least one alphabetic character (a-z; A-Z) and one numeric character (0-9). Special characters are not allowed.
