Domain Transfer Details
Transfer Procedure
- To transfer a .eu domain, explicit authorization is required from the current registrar before initiating a transfer. This authorization includes a complete 16-character code with dashes. An authorization code is valid for 40 days from the date of issue.
Transfer Notes
- The authcode must be explicitly requested via the SetAuthCode command through the current registrar before initiating a transfer. Authorisation codes will not be issued for domain names that are blocked, reserved, withdrawn, or under registry lock.
- Deleted .eu domains under the management of another registrar can be restored from quarantine and simultaneously transferred to Key-Systems (“transfer from quarantine”).
- A change of registrant from quarantine is not possible.
Authorization Codes
- The authorization code for .eu domains includes 16 letters and digits separated by dashes in the format XXXX-AAAA-BBBB-CCCC. It is required to initiate the transfer process and is valid for 40 days or until used, whichever comes first.
