Domain Transfer Details
Transfer Procedure
- Upon requesting a transfer, a confirmation email is sent to the domain’s Owner/Admin-C based on the WHOIS information. The transfer is initiated after this email is confirmed. The losing registrar will also send an email to the domain’s Owner/Admin-C to allow them to deny the transfer. If there is no response, the transfer will proceed after 5 days. Make sure the WHOIS email address is valid to avoid transfer failure.
Transfer Notes
- A .desi domain transfer must be initiated with a so-called authorization code, which can be obtained from the current registrar through the owner or Admin-C of the domain. Ensure that your respective domain does not have a lock status (REGISTRAR-LOCK or HOLD) which can be seen in the WHOIS. If the domain is locked, the owner can request that the domain be unlocked. Transfers for .desi will be processed successfully after 5 days if no response from the losing registrar is received.
Authorization Codes
- The format for auth info requires a minimum length of 8 characters and a maximum length of 32 characters. Additionally, auth info must contain at least one of each of the following three character types: Alphabetic characters (a-z, A-Z), Numeric characters (0-9), Special characters (%-.,:;[]{}_+=@#$^*?!~)
