Registration Restrictions
- .ar second-level domain registrations were made available by the Argentinean registry starting 15 September 2020.
- A trustee service is required to manage .ar domains and is automatically applied to all registrations.
- Nic.AR does not permit using the same IP address for two name servers.
Domain Transfer Details
Transfer Procedure
- The .ar registry does not operate a registrar model, so conventional domain transfers are not available.
- To bring your .ar domain under our management, the domain owner data must be updated at the registry and our trustee must be designated as the responsible entity.
- Log in at nic.ar using your CUIL or CUIT number and the corresponding password.
- Follow the transfer instructions on the registry website — only the first six steps are required.
- Enter our trustee ID 50244773548 during the process.
- Once entered, our trustee will accept the transfer and we will take over management of your domain.
- Please contact our support team directly to initiate the process.
Transfer Notes
- TransferDomain is not available for .ar domains.
- Restores for .ar domains are not possible.
- .ar is a Fulfillment TLD. Registrations involve a manual process that may require documentation depending on registry regulations and are not automated for real-time registrations or real-time updates. Updates may incur additional costs.
- .ar domains cannot be renewed explicitly. To renew, set the domain renewal mode to AUTORENEW or RENEWONCE.
- .ar domains cannot be deleted explicitly. To delete, set the domain renewal mode to AUTODELETE or AUTOEXPIRE.
