Domain Transfer Details
Transfer Procedure
- The transfer of a .wedding domain is initiated at the new registrar with the auth-code and is submitted to the registry. The current registrar sends an email to the domain contacts and may offer options to approve or deny the transfer. If no action is taken, the transfer will be finalized automatically in 5 days. A successful transfer includes a one-year renewal.
Transfer Notes
- To initiate a .wedding domain transfer, an authorization code (auth-code) is required, which can be obtained from the current registrar. Ensure the domain is not locked for transfer (no clientTransferProhibited/statusTransferProhibited). Transfers between registrars take up to 5 days to complete if not explicitly approved or denied. For internal reseller transfers, refer to internal transfer/user transfer documentation. Note that after domain registration, it will be transfer locked for 60 days by the registry.
Authorization Codes
- The format for auth info requires a minimum length of 8 characters and a maximum length of 32 characters. Additionally, auth info must contain at least one of each of the following three character types: alphabetic characters (a-z; A-Z), numeric characters (0-9), and special characters (!;<=$%?&@[()]*^+-,’-{.|/}:~).
