Domain Transfer Details

Transfer Procedure

  • After requesting a transfer, our backend system will send a confirmation email to the domain’s Owner/Admin-C as per WHOIS. The transfer is initiated once this email is confirmed. The losing registrar will then send an email allowing the Owner/Admin-C to deny the transfer. If there’s no response, the transfer will be processed after 5 days. Ensure the WHOIS email address is valid; otherwise, contact the current registrar to update WHOIS info accordingly.

Transfer Notes

  • A .tel domain transfer must be initiated with an authorisation code, which can be obtained from the current registrar through the owner or Admin-C of the domain. Ensure that your respective domain does not have a lock-status (REGISTRAR-LOCK or HOLD). If the domain is locked, then the owner can demand that the domain will be unlocked. Note that we are only allowed to initiate a gTLD transfer after confirmation of the “ICANN Form of Authorization” by the current registrant. The policies can be viewed at http://www.icann.org/transfers/. After a successful transfer, the domain will be locked by the registry for 60 days.

Authorization Codes

  • The format for auth info requires a minimum length of 8 characters and a maximum length of 32 characters.
