Domain Transfer Details

Transfer Procedure

  • The transfer is submitted to the registry, and the losing registrar is automatically notified. The losing registrar emails the owner/admin to inform them, possibly with options to approve or deny. Without action, the transfer concludes after 5 days.

Transfer Notes

  • A .run domain transfer must be initiated with an authorisation code, obtainable from the current registrar through the owner/admin contact. Ensure your domain is not locked (clientTransferProhibited or serverTransferProhibited), which can be checked via WHOIS. If locked, request removal from the current registrar.
  • These procedures apply only for domain transfers between registrars. For internal transfers between resellers, refer to our documentation on internal transfers/user transfers.

Authorization Codes

  • The format for auth info requires a minimum length of 8 characters and a maximum length of 32 characters. Additionally, auth info must contain at least one of each of the following three character types: Alphabetic characters: a-z; A-Z, Numeric characters: 0-9, Special characters: !;<=$%?&@[()]*^+-,'-{.|/}:~
