Registration Restrictions

  • The contact organization must contain a legal entity.
  • Abbreviations of names are not allowed. Full first name and last name are required.
  • RU-Center does not allow to change an existing handle. Please always create a new handle if you want to change contact data.
  • The name server list must contain at least two name servers in different Class C networks. The domain won’t be delegated if the name servers are not configured.
  • Please ensure that a valid and working email address is provided in the contact handles used for registrations or modifications, as this is checked by the registry. If the email address is not working, a 402 error will occur.

  • To initiate a transfer, submit the TransferDomain command with the required information. Ensure the contact handle matches current owner data or the transfer will fail.

Transfer Notes

  • A transfer confirmation will be sent by email. Domains must have a status of VERIFIED to request an authcode.

Authorization Codes

  • The auth code needed for transferring a .ru domain can be obtained via the registrant’s NIC-D account at RU-Center. It cannot be requested through the RRPproxy system.
