Transfer Procedure
- Transfer submissions are sent to the registry, and the current or ‘losing’ registrar will be automatically notified. The losing registrar must then inform the domain’s owner/admin contact about the transfer, potentially providing options to approve or deny it. If there’s no explicit response, the transfer completes automatically after 5 days. Note, these transfer steps apply to registrar changes, not internal reseller transfers.
Transfer Notes
- A .reit domain transfer must be initiated with an authorisation code (auth-code) which can be obtained from the current registrar through the domain’s owner/admin contact. Make sure the domain is not in transfer lock status (clientTransferProhibited and/or serverTransferProhibited), as visible in WHOIS. If the domain is client-side transfer locked, the owner can request the current registrar to remove the lock.
Authorization Codes
- The format for auth info requires a minimum length of 16 characters and a maximum length of 48 characters. Additionally, auth info must contain at least two of each of the following three character types: Alphabetic characters (a-z; A-Z), Numeric characters (0-9), Special characters (-.,:;[]{}_+=@#$^*?!~).
