Domain Transfer Details
Transfer Procedure
- The transfer of a .pet domain to a new registrar starts by submitting a transfer request, which prompts the registry to notify the losing registrar. Following this, the losing registrar sends an email to the corresponding contacts with options to approve or deny the transfer. If there is no explicit approval or denial, the transfer concludes automatically after 5 days.
Transfer Notes
- To initiate a .pet domain transfer, an authorization code (auth-code) is required, which can be obtained from the current registrar through the domain’s owner/admin contact. Ensure that the domain is not locked by clientTransferProhibited and/or serverTransferProhibited status. If it’s client-side locked, the owner can request the current registrar to remove the lock. These procedures only apply for domain transfers between registrars. For internal transfers between resellers, refer to our documentation about internal transfers/usertransfers.
Authorization Codes
- The format for auth info requires a minimum length of 6 characters and a maximum length of 16 characters. Additionally, auth info must contain at least one of each of the following three character types: Alphabetic characters (a-z; A-Z), Numeric characters (0-9), and Special characters (!;<=$%?&@[()]*^+-,’-{.|/}:~).
