Registration Restrictions

  • The owner (registrant) and admin contact of a .co.il domain name should be a legal entity (could be a person, or a company or an association):
  • In case of a person, full name should be supplied (no abbreviations like J. Doe).
  • In case of a company the relevant suffix such as “Ltd” (or “Inc”. “GMBH” etc.) should be specified.
  • In case of a registered association the suffix “RA” should be specified.
  • ISOC has added a new holder validation procedure(2022/02). They randomly select new domain registrations in order to validate registrant details. Both, the reseller and the holder will receive an email with the request to provide evidence of registrant details accuracies such as passport/ID/driver license copy, email validation, etc. 21 days time frame will be provided to complete the validation. After 21 days period, the domain will be deleted by the registry. No refund option will be applied.
  • If the registrant is a company or an association, they are asking for a company certificate.
  • If the registrant is a natural person, they are asking for a photo ID

Domain Transfer Details

Transfer Procedure

  • For the transfer of a domain, an AuthCode is required to initiate the process.
  • Ensure that the registrar’s email address is valid.
  • Verify all legal details to ensure they match the whois.

Transfer Notes

  • If the registrant is an organization or company, the legal details in the contact handle of the owner must be stated. It must exactly match the owner data in the whois.
  • If the domain is transferred from ISOC-IL, a document is necessary. Our fulfillment team will contact you in this case.
  • Due to additions in the security requirements of ISOC, it is necessary that the registrar’s email address is reachable in order to unlock the domain. Please verify the status of the registrant’s email address before contacting the support team, as they will ask you to do so if this has not already been done.
  • To update one of the registrant’s details, except the owner’s name, a written request is required in which they ask to update the registrant details (e.g. address/phone/email).
  • The request must be made on company letterhead, with a company stamp and signature of the owner as shown in a whois lookup is also required.
