Registration Restrictions

  • The domain holder must be the Territorial Public Administration, constitutional body, State Institution, or international or supranational organization, legitimized to request the domain name in accordance with a list of reserved terms approved by the Instruction of the President of Red.es dated 12 September 2005.
  • Copy of the holder’s Tax Identification Card is required.
  • Admin, Tech, and Billing contacts must be natural persons.
  • Since 2010 it is no longer possible to change the contact information of the domain holder through a registrar.
  • The email address of the domain holder and admin contact can only be changed directly by the respective contact at the registry.
  • IDN support includes characters such as á, à, é, è, í, ï, ó, ò, ú, ü, ñ, ç, and the middle dot ‘·’.

Domain Transfer Details

Transfer Procedure

  • Initiate a domain transfer through the current registrar’s interface. Ensure the domain’s Admin-C (Administrative Contact) approves the transfer when prompted by email from the registry. If not approved within 10 days, the transfer will be automatically cancelled.

Transfer Notes

  • To change the domain holder information, the current holder must log in at Red.es using their NIC handle. If the password is unknown, it can be recovered on the Red.es website. For detailed instructions on updating holder information, please refer to the process outlined on the Red.es platform.

Authorization Codes

  • Transfer of a .nom.es domain to another registrar is not possible via API, and must be initiated at the current registrar’s interface. The Admin-C of the domain will receive an email from the registry to approve or cancel the transfer. This email contains links for both options, and approval must be provided within 10 days. Failure to respond within this time frame will result in the transfer being automatically cancelled.
