Registration Restrictions
- Configured name servers are required. The registry provides a zone check at http://registro.br/cgi-bin/nicbr/dnscheck.
- The Billing-Contact and the Owner-Contact need a local presence in Brazil. Use our trustee service or provide a Brazilian register number (for the owner contact) and a Brazilian contact handle (for the billing contact).
- For a Brazilian contact, the two-letter state value is mandatory. State abbreviations like AC for Acre, AL for Alagoas, etc., must be used.
- An organization must prove it is non-governmental and a not-for-profit to be eligible for ORG.BR registrations. Our trustee service cannot be used for ORG.BR.
- A domain might not be available for registration if it has been part of more than six (6) consecutive release processes.
- Individuals are excluded from registering .esp.br and .far.br domains. Only legal entities are eligible, and the CNPJ number must be submitted. A trustee service can be used if necessary.
