Domain Transfer Details
Transfer Procedure
- The transfer is initiated at the registry and the current registrar is informed. The losing registrar will contact the domain’s owner/admin to approve or deny the transfer. If there is no response, the transfer will be finalized automatically after 5 days. Note: this procedure is applicable for registrar transfers, not internal reseller transfers.
Transfer Notes
- A .design domain transfer must be initiated with an authorization code (auth code), which can be obtained from the current registrar through the owner/admin contact. Ensure that the domain does not have a transfer lock from the client or server side (clientTransferProhibited and/or serverTransferProhibited). If locked, the owner can request removal from the current registrar.
Authorization Codes
- The format for auth info requires a minimum length of 16 characters and a maximum length of 48 characters. Additionally, auth info must contain at least two of each of the following three character types: Alphabetic characters (a-z; A-Z), Numeric characters (0-9), Special characters (-.,:;[]{}_+=@#$^*?!~).
