Domain Transfer Details

Transfer Procedure

  • The transfer is initiated at the registry and the current registrar is automatically notified. The current registrar can then inform the domain contacts about the transfer, including options to approve or deny the transfer. If not explicitly approved or denied, the transfer will be finalized after 5 days.

Transfer Notes

  • A .car domain transfer must be initiated with an authorization code (auth-code), which can be obtained from the current registrar through the owner/admin contact of the domain. Ensure that the domain does not have a lock status such as ‘clientTransferProhibited’ or ‘serverTransferProhibited’. If the domain is locked, the owner can request the current registrar to remove the lock. These procedures apply to transfers between registrars, not internal transfers between resellers.
